Wouldnโt it be great if you could get yourself prepared for the new year, before the new year? If youโre a planner- or even if you arenโt- and you want 2020 to be your year to get organized, this post is for you!
Clutter clearing isnโt a trend. Itโs not something that will be โall the rageโ for the next few months and then just disappear. Getting organized and clearing clutter is something that is just a part of life. #adulting
Keeping your clutter at a tolerable level and maintaining your sanity is a journey not a one and done event.
If you think you can clear it once and it will stay that way, I donโt want to be the one to tell you (but itโs my duty to do so), but it wonโt. Life is dynamic and so is the stuff coming in and out, but by staying on top of it regularly, you can keep the overwhelm at bay.
How Often Should I Declutter?
Now with that said, I realize that it can be overwhelming when we look at our house as a whole, so I have broken it down into smaller projects to tackle each month. I am also someone who like to be told what to do. Well, not completely, but I like it when I have a clear plan that I donโt have to think about. It is like going to a group exercise class- I donโt have to think, I do have to do with work, but I like when someone directs me to what I should be doing. I am a good student ๐
How Do I Decide What To Declutter?
This can be a little different for each person. For some itโs easy to throw out items, for others there might be too much sentimental value attached to it EVEN if you donโt regularly use it. Put Iโve shared a few articles my favorite ways to simplify or declutter.
1) Preparing to Simplify: Part 1
3) How to overcome barriers when simplifying: Part 3
